What is C. diff?

Clostridioides difficile (commonly known as C. difficile or C.diff) is a bacteria that can live in the gut of both humans and animals.

Most of the time C. diff is harmless, however changes to the balance of your gut bacteria due to such issues as antibiotic usage or a weakened immune system can cause a C. diff infection to develop, resulting in diarrhoea and gastrointestinal (GI) disease.
